Beka & Ethan | 12.30.2017

Ethan and Beka. A pair of the sweetest and most joyful people I've ever met. I have the privilege of serving with them on a Navigators leadership team, but before they were married, Beka was a smiling face and voice on screens as Ethan talked to her or about her. He was SMITTEN. She lived overseas for almost 2 years (practically the entire time they dated) and I'll never forget Ethan's proud description of the Valentine's Day gift she had mailed him: bacon-wrapped steak.

I knew she was a good woman, but it was a special incident that made me want to be just like her without even having met her yet: One day, when Ethan was at home, sick, she found a way to buy and have soup delivered to him. I took notes on how passionately and intentionally she loved her man!

I was honored to get to do their wedding flowers and celebrate their special day! Beka had me take her mother's veil and use it as a wrap around her bouquet. She also had me cut it and place it in her mother's corsage as a special treat. I cannot tell you how hard it was to cut that veil and I saved every extra scrap for Beka to keep and use elsewhere someday.

My favorite memory was leaving the wedding a little early to get some friends home (an hour away) and once I got back on the road, I ended up driving next to them. (They'd just left the ceremony.) We both put our car windows down and waved and laughed for a brief moment - it was such a fun surprise. I love these two and how well they love each other and those around them. They are a wonderful example of Christ's love.
